I love big bluegill!

Thank you for allowing me to join your site. I am an avid fisherman who lives in the Central Arkansas area between Little Rock and Searcy. I am surrounded by great fishing waters and I enjoy pursuing panfish, trout and bass from shore or from my boat. I look forward to learning from you all and maybe I can offer up a tip or two as well. Thanks again.

Hey Maurice relocating to North Carolina will serve any bluegill fan well.......I catch gills year round but the winter is slow in comparison.......April to November are all solid in the tidal waters...........North Carolina Lakes are respectable panfish destinations but are over crowded in my opinion..........Santee Cooper is a enjoyable place and I normally visit family there once a year.......the fishing has gotten more commercialized there over the years but shellcrackers of a lifetime still wait on the patient and determined angler. Look me up when you get to Charlotte and we'll make some noise!

A commonly stocked shrimp in the pond management world is the PK shrimp....Palaemonetes Kadiakensis, or the Mississippi Grass Shrimp. I personally know of ponds scattered from Texas to Nebraska that have thriving colonies of these guys. Exceptional natural forage.

Just checked ,  some are called Anostraca ,  Fairy Shrimp , they are spread across the world , 300 species spread across 8 families . LOFR

Like Tony and LOFR stated, grass shrimp of many kinds are in a variety of waters, nationwide. Most Atlantic slope tidal and brackish flows on the Eastern Coast have an abunbance of what is known as the 'daggerblade' grass shrimp and that is what a lot of us try to duplicate with some of our jigs. But they seem to work equally well in inland freshwaters too.
