went fishin' today did ok I only caught two white bass on some roadrunners off in a creek out from the main river the fish were in that pre-spawn mode which was kind of surprisin' considerin' how cold it still was and how fat they were for there size. but it was worth lossin' a couple of jigs and hangin' up some times. but they were hugged to the bottom of the creek and they were at the openin' of the creek, I think they were followin' them shads around and the water in the creek was obviousl

This quest began with Tommy Winton, of Florida. He was posting pictures of MASS QUANTITIES of Blue Gill and Red Ears. The picture that got the ball rolling was his picture titled "86 Gill and Shells". Reading thru the comment found out he had caught them on crickets fished in 12" of water on bottom. One of Tommy's quotes is " If they not hitting CRICKET they are not going to touch anything!"
I am a flyrodder so live bait is not an option and began working on a sinking cricket pattern.

Every so often I have a fishing trip that will remain in my memory for a long, long time. I can't say forever, as I haven't reached that stage in my life yet. I can remember unbelievable catch rate trips, first fish trips, and of course everyone remembers big fish trips. Today's trip doesn't fall into any of those trip types. In all actuality, the fishing was below average. The company however was top shelf material.
I was to meet an indivual I knew only through the www. world.

There are so many trips that I run into an individual who looks down their nose and says, "Yeah, I like fishing for bluegill too when nothing else is biting."
Today, I was just waiting for that person to come along. I needed their help - badly. I needed someone, who believes that bluegill are so easy to catch, that pretty much anything will do.
It didn't.
It doesn't.
I spent so much time simply trying to figure out what I needed to do and how I needed to do

I just mounted a boat seat on a base from an old office chair , with wheels. I hope I will like my idea. That will let me more mobile in the front of the boat. Who says you have to fish from one spot. I need a little exercise.

I just finished watching the Bassmaster Classic for the fifth time. I thought the new TV graphics and lures being displayed were cool and informative. I felt some serious pain for Jeff Kriet though! Man it had to hurt being beat again by Kevin VanDam. It seems like KVD is in the head of every pro angler on the circuit and I can’t blame them. The man is an impressive power fi

From my last entry, the area went through a high water period (a few days over flood stage). I did attempt a trip, as I figured I needed to fish in all conditions if I wanted to gain a true understanding of the waterway.
It was a bust.
Then we had snow...............record snowfall that kept us away from any fishing. When we did see a window, we took it. Following is how the few hours played out:
I really don't know what to report from the trip Z and I took to Sag
