I can't speak for Texas. Most states have strict regulations about selling sportfish for food. Seems the main concern is that ole bubba will catch a mess of nice bluegill and need a little beer money…

Finally got out for some big bluegill action

Nice fish. You look cold. Guess that's why the fish were so deep.

Redears spawning in the fall too?

One fish with a roughed up tail could be indicative of a late spawn. Another possible explanation could be that the fish escaped capture from a largemouth bass or other predatory species. Redears hav…

I know how you feel James, being in the red clay hills. I live just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. There are some good fishing areas along the Catawba River and a few city water reservoirs in the area that have good fishing. Nothing like the…

The first fly I tied was a black ant fly, trying to catch bluegill. Worked too. Can't recommend a kit. I would think it depends what you want to spend. Make sure you get a good quality vice. I used to love to tie flies. I made my own designs.......…

Mink are like a miniature otter. Otters are a finely tuned "trophy fish eliminator". Trophy fish ponds should avoid otters and mink at all cost. Shootin' arn's work well.

You got a Phish Head nah nah na nah nah! You ain't got a I-Yacht, nah nah na nah nah!

The rules say we got to stick to discussions about Gills. Your Phish Head's got gills, nah nah na nah nah!

This is stupid, why don't you quit?

It ain't a racing yacht. It ain't a luxury yacht. It's an I-yacht. Like an I- Phone only a little larger and it floats. With me on it.

I can take a joke, wish you could tell one. You calling me booger ain't near as funny as me calling you Phish Head.

Watch your inbox, something coming at you.

Don't know for sure, but water levels should be normal right now. I can only go by the levels on the Apalach without driving all the way down there.

OK JDPhish, now it's just Booger! What happened to man? You want to shorten my beautiful name? OK. Let's just make it Boo to you. Boo! Phish Head!.

You grow bluegills, I have deck hands! Hey, we're a lot alike. By the way, it's a yacht! Being my freind is the only way anyone gets to see it. Pay attention and you may get to see it soon.

Boogieman........Boo to you

Boogie, NOT BOOGER, Boogie. I shouldn't be surprised. You can't even spell your own name. Can you even fish? If not, welcome to the I wish club. I myself have not been since late July. I may swear off! I am reduced to trying to talk about it. I may have to go back to school to even qualify for that. Fishing school, not talking school.

Anyway, you can call me Boogerman if you want to, anything for some excitement around here.

when your on turn up your chat volume. this is what you do, go to the top of the page, click chat on the right (its on the menue bar) then when you get there put up the volume which is next to the smilie face, and the computer volume because the beep is very soft. this is because if someone trys to talk to you the chat volume is on mute. if you want to talk to someon just copy and paste this message.

I would do a 5-pound rock bass for nothing. LOL I'm into doing the panfish right now but if your talking large mouth bass its going to have to be 9 pounds or better to coax me into doing it free.

They are a very different fish I'll say that. The best I have figured so far is that they like the bottom and live bait, not to say that they wont strike an artificial, it takes some real skill though from what I can gather and I really admire those…

I am still trying to figure out how to fish for Redear. I have not had much luck with them. The seem to be pretty smart. Do you have tricks you would like to share on catching these guys? Did you happen to get the weight of any of these fish?

They fight just like a big bluegill. I am told you can eat them but haven't tried yet. The ones we caught today went to a friend who has a pet shop. I wouldn't mind trying them though. They are local to south Texas and I would imagine that they eat…

Bank access has improved since they began stocking trout back in the late 90's. As of now State regs require a trout license to fish it during the season ($10). If you plan to launch a boat you will need a permit. Not sure about other options as far…

About the only time you can fish Pawhuska from the bank is when they drop the lake for trout season. There is no cost to fish it.

I know, I will have to try it out this fall when the temps drop a bit. Can you fish it from the bank at all, and is there a cost to fish it?
