Ok do you happen to have pictures of Northern BG and Native BG. I would like to see what the difference is so when I catch fish around here I know what they are. Also where can you purchase adult BG?

When were these stocked and do you have more recent pics?

Male or Female? What is the best way to tell them apart and how big do they have to be before you can tell them apart?

Hey Joe, don’t let a few giggling girls detract you from your mission *grin*. Fly casting is fun. Two to ten is good advise for the beginner but the clock has little to do with fly-casting. The best advise is to purchase a good Lefty Kreh DVD and l…

My new Fishin’ Buddy William – first cast on the new TFO Bug Launcher kid’s fly rod – first fish on a “Weenie” fly. I had forgotten how much fun it is to teach a kid how to fish - had a blast this morning. Quick learner on fly-casting – I see a fly…

Bug Launcher Fly Rods

Copied from PondBoss forum:
Temple Fork Outfitters has just issued a press release for a new series of inexpensive fly rods that sound perfect for the pond fly rodder.
Who ever heard of a $79.95 fly rod with a lifetime guarantee?

A point of major interest to me is the introduction of a companion Mini-Mag fly rod that is a lighter version of the original that many of you had a chance to cast at last years PB conference.A Mini-Mag combo kit will be available in a couple of weeks with rod, reel, f… Continue

George,
I also have that "fever" for a 12 incher....I am determined to get it this year!...We'll see. Whether it's the 12 inch gill or not, I just think they are the grandest fish to catch, & you can fish with tackle that's not heavy & tiring to use.

George,
Your gills are HUGE! I have fished a pond here in Canton, Ohio for 9 years. I practiced "selective harvest" all these years. Average size has gone from 7" to 9" during that time, wth some 10" to 11"+ fish now. If you ever get this way (Pro Football Hall of Fame is near me), please let me know & we'll wet a line...fly line of course. Not the size of yours, but still real fine gills.

Dang, george, those are some awesomely well-built bull BG. Hopefully that's what I have to look forward to (other than that funny copper band on their noses :) )

George, go to "my photos" at top of page, then click on the photo you wish to edit title. Then underneath the photo it should pop up with "edit photo". Click on that, then you should be able to edit text.

Hmmm, with all the use that cap is getting, you may have to remind me to bring you a new one this summer! :)

Bruce, how do you edit titles in existing photos?
I didn't intend to have titles because I know some of my BG ID's are in error.

George, you can add all the photos you want. You have a particularly good portfolio on big bluegill I think the website automatically edits your file size. So you can add any amounts of pixels you feel like.

They are a very different fish I'll say that. The best I have figured so far is that they like the bottom and live bait, not to say that they wont strike an artificial, it takes some real skill though from what I can gather and I really admire those…

I am still trying to figure out how to fish for Redear. I have not had much luck with them. The seem to be pretty smart. Do you have tricks you would like to share on catching these guys? Did you happen to get the weight of any of these fish?

They fight just like a big bluegill. I am told you can eat them but haven't tried yet. The ones we caught today went to a friend who has a pet shop. I wouldn't mind trying them though. They are local to south Texas and I would imagine that they eat…

Bank access has improved since they began stocking trout back in the late 90's. As of now State regs require a trout license to fish it during the season ($10). If you plan to launch a boat you will need a permit. Not sure about other options as far…

About the only time you can fish Pawhuska from the bank is when they drop the lake for trout season. There is no cost to fish it.
