To make it easier on connecting the main line to the leader -especially if your eyes aren't good or you fish dawn/dusk low-light. Use two overhand loop knots. One at the end of your main line and one at the end of the leader. Slip the leader loop th…

I use nothing but 2lb Maxima... sometimes with a fluorocarbon leader... sometimes without. Monofilament and fluorocarbon don't always tie the best knots when used together... (lots of spit)... Since I've gotten a little older and the old eyes aren't…

I think that fish seeing the line is one part of the formula, but the line's flexibility and how soft that line is is a major factor in inducing a bluegill take. I have answered that the best 2 lb. line is a 1 lb. leader in other posts but as you sa…

6lb spiderwire is great. cast light baits well and saves a lot of jigs.

I have been using "Sufix" ice line this year and I really like it. The 2# test in flourocarbon is pretty much invisible.

Coldwater/Warmwater Bluegill

Being a fisherman from southern California, where is rarely gets under 40 to 50 degrees in the dead of winter, why do the Blue gill in our lakes here stop biting when we have this cool weather? It is Very hard to even locate them! Most of the lakes and ponds in the northern states freeze over from freezing temperatures, yet you have great Bluegill fishing through the ice. Cold water is cold water, no matter where it is right? Well, Bluegill are Bluegill in any area too right? So how come us fish… Continue

when your on turn up your chat volume. this is what you do, go to the top of the page, click chat on the right (its on the menue bar) then when you get there put up the volume which is next to the smilie face, and the computer volume because the beep is very soft. this is because if someone trys to talk to you the chat volume is on mute. if you want to talk to someon just copy and paste this message.

Do you fish of a boat or shore. I think you can take a float tube on lake Parris.
I was looking into that.

Hey i always fish lake perris on a tuesday because on a saturday or sunday Perris is just too busy. My advice would be to go to the back of the island and find some sticks in the water and cast to the outside of them the bigger fish lay on the outside on a bigger small mealworm. Hey if you have any advice on crappie let me know.

Hey Jeff...do you know where I can find a yellow perch replica 15 3/4 in long? All the sites I found didn't have a perch near that big.

Hey , I'm a flyroder and use crickets all the time , about the only time I use artificial flys is when I run out of crickets or I'm fishing for smallmouths. The only limitation is it's harder to fish deeper than your flyrod is long but it is possibl…

AWESOME question! Pop-up is the main bite early and I call that a "lift". If you have proper gear- your float will (( lift )) slightly up in the water. The reason I talk about sensitivity in a setup is that fish eject their food all day long. Somet…
