Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I just wanted to extend a huge "Thank You" to Herman Brothers Pond Management, and Nate Herman, who is a member of Big Bluegill for their incredible hospitality they extended me this last weekend!

Their operation is absolutely first class, and offers people in the Illinois, and the Midwest a chance to catch a really huge hybrid bluegill.

Take a look at this great fish. We caught several hybrid bluegill in the 1-1 3/4 pound range, and we also caught quite a few legitimate one-pound class purebred bluegill.

Here's a photo of one of the amazing hybrids. Can you believe the body condition?!? This fish was nearly 11 inches, but it's amazing girth made is fight like a fish that was even bigger!!!

1/32 ounce jighead, if I remember correctly.  Chartreuse.  Sometimes I was tipping with a little piece of crawler, and sometimes with a green and blackk BPS tripple ripple, with black body and chartreuse tail.

Talk about a goliath that's it. What a great looking fish it looks like a set of lips connected to a blue basketball. Another great fish Bruce, if you don't mind my asking what was your bait of choice for this behemoth.

OH MY WORD! It looks like a torpedo ready to destroy that pond! Excellent specimen! You're too happy playing with those babies Bruce.

Amazing fish, Bruce! I may have to call in a favor from some friends in IL! Tom, how the heck did you fish at Doral? I tried taking a flower petal from the word on 18 and got my butt chewed. Love that course....
