Just joined tonight.  I'm a life-long bass fisherman who always held a soft spot for bluegills, actually any sunfish.  When I first went fishin' back in 1967, the guy that took me, sorta'…Continue

Lyndon, I fish jigs of all sorts under bobbers all year long. The key is to match the bobber with the proper sized jig. I use 1/128th oz to 1/32 oz jigs, so I am using small, literally tiny bobbers to suspend them. . I use 2 lb test alot so you have to be careful not to snap the rig off on a long cast. I fish them from 20 inches to 5 feet deep on an fixed bobber and down to 10 feet with a slip-bobber. I also like to tip my jigs and jig heads with a small piece of worm for added attraction.

I'll be watching for those posts! South Carolina has alot to offer and I liked the fishing calendar there. I often had success as early as March and caught good numbers as late as Thanksgiving. Good luck down there in the "Low Country" Lyndon!

Lyndon start looking for the anglers that are heading out to the Santee Cooper lakes, Moultrie and Marion. I caught my biggest gill ever in lake Moultrie and there is some chunky shellcrackers in those lakes. Initially a littl overwhelming because of their size but if you're staying in the Charleston area it will be worth your while. Look up Black's fish camp on line and also areas around the town of Santee on I-95.....I lived in Summerville for 13 years and I spent alot of time on those lakes. Good Luck down in South Carolina.. and welcome aboard!

Welcome aboard Lyndon. You are now part of an interesting bunch of people who have a common goal we all love to fish and fish we do. When we do this thing we love to do we are all the time learning and when we learn we pass on what we learn. Its out there for us to share cause if you read the Blogs and Forums there are tons of information for us to fine tune our skills. In the same token don't be afraid to share information yourself  it  may be something we can use ourselves to help us in our fishing  endeavors.  Then in the same token if you have a question don't be afraid to ask. Almost everybody here will answer your question if he or she knows the answer. There is also photo's and even some videos so don't be afraid to explore I know you will enjoy doing so. Where else can you learn and have so much fun doing it. GOOD FISHIN..
