Favorite lures for the big Gills!!!!

They are hard to cast without a splitshot, but the panfish stopper by K&E is outstanding for big gills. The regular sized bass stopper also works very well. Good luck!

Thanks James. Not to mention how many kids throw in the towel and never look back because of the bad experience. I am going to do some research on some good choices. Marty By the way, I caught a 16.4 pound carp on a Rattle Trap on Sunday! I total…

I agree with Marty 100%. Even the 4 - 5 year old kids need a decent working reel & rod to start learning how to fish right. I am against those character toy combo sets espeically the poor quality lines that come with them. With those toy sets, kids…

Most of my fishing is in these park districts. They truly are some of the best fishing in my area. Here is a bass we caught a couple weeks ago with some help from Mr. Gronaw.

How To Help Beginner Anglers

It is very rewarding to see the excitement on a new anglers face, young or old, when they catch their first fish. The history of this excitement can be traced all the way to the caveman days when the children were taught by their elders how to gather food and catch fish. When the child caught their first fish, I am sure that they were welcomed back at their dwelling with smiles and admir… Continue

when your on turn up your chat volume. this is what you do, go to the top of the page, click chat on the right (its on the menue bar) then when you get there put up the volume which is next to the smilie face, and the computer volume because the beep is very soft. this is because if someone trys to talk to you the chat volume is on mute they wont hear you. if you want to talk to someon just copy and paste this message.

My stomach usually doesn't give the scales enough time to join in on the action though.

They are a very different fish I'll say that. The best I have figured so far is that they like the bottom and live bait, not to say that they wont strike an artificial, it takes some real skill though from what I can gather and I really admire those…

I am still trying to figure out how to fish for Redear. I have not had much luck with them. The seem to be pretty smart. Do you have tricks you would like to share on catching these guys? Did you happen to get the weight of any of these fish?

They fight just like a big bluegill. I am told you can eat them but haven't tried yet. The ones we caught today went to a friend who has a pet shop. I wouldn't mind trying them though. They are local to south Texas and I would imagine that they eat…

Oops sorry Zach I forgot about need a trout stamp on your license.

Bank access has improved since they began stocking trout back in the late 90's. As of now State regs require a trout license to fish it during the season ($10). If you plan to launch a boat you will need a permit. Not sure about other options as far…

About the only time you can fish Pawhuska from the bank is when they drop the lake for trout season. There is no cost to fish it.

I know, I will have to try it out this fall when the temps drop a bit. Can you fish it from the bank at all, and is there a cost to fish it?
