First time out this yr.  I was using worms.  The thing was ate before I could find accurate scales but maybe over 1.5?  Fought like a warrior.  Good luck,

Dwayne, optimal spoon choice is determined by weight not length....if fishing shallow 3-20ft...use 1/16-1/8th oz spoons....25-25ft or deeper I go with the 1/4 oz

Dwayne, ty for adding me.  I look forward to sharing the wisdom of fishing.  I have been at it 41 yrs,  and fished the USA , central Am. , south Am.  I am retired Army spcl ops . fought in the drug wars mostly, sniping, or raids.  Glad to now just hunt down bluegills and some extrme fishing of channel cats.  Glad I found this site and the good people I have already talked with.  Looking foward to a rewarding exchange.

Thanks Dwayne for selecting me as a friend. If I can help you in anyway let me know. I've been fishing since I have been out of diapers, that's a long time ago. Was in a local bass club in Toledo Ohio. That wasn't my cup of tea I wanted to fish to relax and in the club it wasn't relaxing. I'm a retired auto worker who is obsessed  with fishing, can't get enough but since sickness in the family I now only get out once or twice a year wanting to catch that giant gill. Along the way if I can help someone by answering a question or two then so be it. I just hope with my infor it will help down the road. I love to fish for anything but the top of my list is perch (good eating) blue gill that includes all the sunfish group and crappies. I fish ultra lite  rods and reels and small spinners and jigs. I fish out of a bass boat that's  part of the comfort factor when I fish I'll go in the early morning or evening, try to do both. If I can help you please ask and in return maybe one day you can help me or someone else. Dwayne welcome aboard and GOOD FISHIN...

Dwayne:  Thank you and Dick for your comments..The Bluegill was large and caught awhile back.  I can truly say I've never caught one quite that size again.

Mr. Denison, your profile pic is probably the thought that every true fisherman or fisherwoman, has secretly saw themselves doing at one time or another.
