First open water action for2010
ok going over my plans for my pond and because the kids will be fishing alot I'm think about setting my pond for big gills I'll take all the bass out over 16" long 2.5 pounds I'll take all the gills 10" and small 1 pounds . But leave real little one…

I thought I read that the gills will spawn when they get about 6" every full moon when water temp gets above 65 degrees. Is this right?
I can usually tell a male from a female in pure-strain bluegill, but I'm not as confident in judging hybrids; the majority of them are normally male. The yellow on the fins gives away that it's a hybrid, along with the blue on the body.
What type of boats do yall use. Jon boats, canoes, kayaks, what's your favorites?

Steve, When it is a good popper , it deserves 2 postings. If you use the smaller foam and do it in black, when the dragon flies are buzzing the water it is a great go to fly!!
I caught a bg yesterday on one, good to know that about cf, as I don't want to catch one of those. They may go back and hibernate some more due to the snow coming
